We are delighted to announce the upcoming book The Anthony Shaw Collection: Seeing With Another Eye, due for release in early April 2024.

This landmark publication presents selected works with specially commissioned photography by Philip Sayer and new writing by David Whiting and Anthony Shaw himself, setting the collection in its art historical context.

With a passion for art in all its forms, Anthony Shaw has created an extraordinary art collection which focuses in particular on British sculptural ceramics. The collection features among its major artists Gordon Baldwin, Ewen Henderson, Gillian Lowndes, Bryan Illsley, and Sara Radstone, who all work intuitively and express the “felt” nature of their works, in doing so often transcending the limitations of their medium. The most recent additions include Nao Matsunaga and Kerry Jameson, who likewise invariably produce the unexpected.

The Anthony Shaw Collection is an important holding of contemporary ceramics, sculpture, two-dimensional art and other objects acquired by Anthony Shaw, with new additions being continually made. Now in trust, it was formerly housed at Billing Place in West London but is now on long term loan to York Art Gallery.
